SciTEK Teacher resources of resources
Just a reminder— 1) I’ve found the following to be consistently interesting and useful. There’s no point in my sending their news onward (what would I excerpt?) Consequently, I recommend everyone sign up for their RSS feeds or list-servs. 2) These FYI.Sci.TEK E-mails used to be archived If anyone finds a free service similar to QuickTopic (obscure URL and moderation and post by E-mail) please let me know. I do keep copies of nearly everything I have sent out so let me know if I can search for something. 3) Tumblr.com is a post by E-mail capable archive which I’m using for brief bits, including for teachers. The individual bits are on-line here, Untitled Brief notes for Grassroots Science, Biocultural Science & Management, SciTEK teachers, edubloggers , wrinklies and elderlies, and others encumbered by the thought process, http://hlthenvt.tumblr.com/ and is available by RSS feed, too http://hlthenvt.tumblr.com/rss I describe its intended use here, http://cerebraloddjobs.edublogs.org/2008/03/07/tumblr-as-e-mail-complement-to-web-logging/ The weekly (hopefully) digests will be published here, http://13c4.wordpress.com/category/digest/ 4) I use the fyi.sci.tek AT gmail DOT com to send these things out (in case anyone labels or sorts their emails) and correspondence back can come through that or to my other gmail addresses. Let me know if what you send is for everyone so I can send it on. Also, please let me know if your address changes or you no longer wish the missives or you find new people who want to be added. These are sent out as a group “FYI Teachers” so everyone should be getting blind-copies. Thanks. Pam

**MPES newsletter (Dawn Wiseman), http://www.nativeaccess.com at Concordia University. [This is a change in format from the good folks at Native Access to Engineering Programme. I like the new format. Somehow NAEP became MPES without my notice so I don’t know the new particulars. Fortunately, Dawn Wiseman is still the contact person. MPES is Mount Pleasant Educational Services ]. At MPES we’ve been rethinking our listserv, and we are pleased to launch this new version in January 2008. Once every two weeks we’ll be sending out our new electronic newsletter, with links, ideas and resources for bringing math and science to your students. (by E-mail)
